Free Crochet Pattern: Treble Cluster Flower

This post contains affiliate links.

This crocheted flower is super simple to whip up!  It's downright adorable as an applique on blankets, hats, ear warmers, or even just on it's own.  I gave you a sneak peak of a bigger project that I'm working on, which include these cute little flowers.  I am excited to share this free crochet pattern with you now.

You can crochet these flowers with a single color, use multiple colors of yarn, different sized hooks, you can add buttons and beads as embellishments, there are so many options!  If you add buttons, use my little trick!  For the smaller flowers on this page I used a F hook and for the larger ones I used an I hook.  All the yarn is Sugar n' Cream.

Special Stitch
Treble cluster -- crochet three trebles stitches together.

1. Chain 2.

2. 5 single crochet stitches in first chain.  Join with a slip stitch.

3. *Chain 3. Treble cluster. Chain 3. Slip stitch in same stitch.* Repeat in all five stitches for five petals. Join and fasten off.  I made a little video of me crocheting one petal.  Here's the video.

4. Slip stitch to join.  Fasten off.

I love linking up at these blog parties.

How To Video for the Free Treble Cluster Flower Pattern Petal

This video shows how I crochet one petal of my Free Treble Cluster Flower Pattern.  Please be kind, this is a very simple video made to help you understand my pattern.

I know it's not professional quality, but that's alright for now.  When I learn how to take better videos and how to edit them I will update this post.

Another Crocheted Hat: Cream & Purple

Yes, you've seen this basic pattern before.  (Can anyone say The Orange Hat?)  But it's just such a great hat!  I was planning on selling this particular one, but Catherine has taken a fancy to it.  I might set it aside for a couple of days and then bring it out again and see if she still wants it.

Pattern Notes:

Once again, the hat itself is follows the pattern from Repeat Crafter Me.  I added a row of contrasting single stitch all around the hat and then finished it off with slip stitches around the entirety.  This time I used a pattern for the flower, this one from Lion Brand.  The cream yarn is Red Heart Super Saver yarn.  (By the way, this yarn is much softer after it's washed and dried!)  The purple is a random unmarked yarn from my stash.

I love sharing my projects around the blog world!  Check out my Crafty Links page for some of my favorite places to party.

The Orange Hat (A Crochet Project)

I whipped this cute little hat up in the middle of a knitting disaster.  The yarn is a mystery skein from my stash -- but I really love how the color looks!  I had picked a purple to be the accent color, but Catherine was insistent on the light brown.  In the end, the three year old might have been right.

Pattern notes: I used my favorite ear-flap pattern from Repeat Crafter Me.

I made the "child size" hat, but I did add an extra row of double crochet to the bottom.  I also worked around the entire hat (ear-flaps included) with one row of single crochet.  I think the single crochet round adds a nice finishing touch.  (It's very subtle, but I think that it cleans up all of the edges and looks more professional.)

The flower is a super simple one that I whipped together. This is what I did: Chain five. Join. *Chain three. Three Treble stitches. Chain three. Slip stitch around ring.* Make five petals this way.

I'm calling this project a success!  I think it's cute and Catherine loves it, so it's a win-win!
