Yarn Fanatic Party #46

Welcome to the Yarn Fanatic Party! This is a place to share your yarn-y projects, support other makers, and even enter a giveaway.

Since I am in the process of moving, and my co-host, Alexandra, also has a busy summer this Yarn Fanatic Party will last an entire moth.  During that time I will be posting, but it will be sporadically.  I'll probably be more active on my Facebook page, so be sure to follow along there!

7 Quick Takes

1.  One of the books that I am currently reading is The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up: The Japanese Art of Decluttering and Organizing.  I was number 168 on the hold list at my library.  I'm about half-way though it, and overall I think it's worth a read.  There is a bit of "things have an energy" and, even worse, a get rid of  books mentality but overall it's not so bad.  At the very least I am feeling inspired to purge a lot while packing for out upcoming move.  Have you read it?  Was it life-changing for you?

2.  Packing.  Yeah.  That needs to happen.

3.  We are library people.  We are moving out of state at the end of the month but we checked out books yesterday, and I wouldn't be shocked if we checked something else out before we leave.

4.  This salted caramel peanut butter is awesome.

5.  I'm on the hunt for a dress pattern for me.  It needs to be for cotton wovens.  I've been loving indie designers lately, but am open to any recommendations!  Below are two that I keep coming back to.  Which do you like more?  Which do you think would work better for me?

The Anna Dress
The Jamie Dress

6. I am so excited about an upcoming giveaway that I'm going to give you a little sneak peak.  It's sponsored by Never Enough Thyme Yarn.  Doesn't the yarn look delicious?  (Yes, I use adjectives usually attributed to food for yarn.)

7.  Dominic is napping, Catherine is playing, time for me to play in my craft room!  I mean pack my craft room.  Pack.

Yarn Fanatic Party #44

Welcome to the Yarn Fanatic Party!  This is a place to share your yarn-y projects, support other makers, and even enter a giveaway.  I hope that everyone had a fun and safe Fourth of July.  We had a nice quiet day.  The next four weeks are going to be pretty crazy -- we're gearing up to move about 600 miles down the road.  Of course, I won't stop crafting!

WIPS: An Explosion of Fabric and Yarn

My WIPS are taking over!  I have so many knitting, crochet, and sewing projects going right now that my craft room looks like it exploded.  The above picture is of the "clean" side.  The other half is much worse.  It's all organized chaos though.  I know where everything is (I think) and I'm ready to go on quite a few projects.  I have two In Threes Sweaters started, and both need to be finished ASAP as both are gifts.   Catherine's birthday is Friday(!).  I was planning on making three dresses for her, but that's not going to happen.  (I was going to say something goofy about it won't happen unless the planets align, but there was that whole thing with Venus and Jupiter just last night!)  I have one almost finished, the other two, well, the fabric is washed.  That's something, isn't it?

I'd love to see your yarn-y projects at this week's Yarn Fanatic Party! And don't forget to enter the Red Heart giveaway!

Just curious, do you find yourself rushing to finish handmade gifts at the last possible minute?  If not, what's your secret?

(Back to the craft room for me . . . after I prep dinner and change the little guy's diaper and get Catherine a snack and switch the laundry and vacuum the bedroom . . .)

Linking up at Small Things and Frontier Dreams.
