February Granny-Spiration Challenge

Welcome to the February edition of the Granny-Spiration Challenge!  Projects will be shared from your hosts the first Saturday of each month. Post times will vary -- you can see my Be My Valentine: A Free Crochet Pattern right here!

Join the Challenge!

You will be able to link up from 9am EST on the first Saturday of the month, through 11:59pm EST on the second Thursday from the start date - specific dates are on top of the Rafflecopter form - giving you almost two weeks to link up and enter the giveaway! (Feel free to read more about it at EyeLoveKnots.)

Please share projects that are family friendly and GRANNY INSPIRED!  It could be a "regular" granny square, a solid granny square, a granny stitch pattern, a pattern review, or an inspiration piece -- we're pretty open minded.

*Please make sure to link to your post, and not your homepage.
*If you don't have a blog, you can still share with us by creating a Free Flickr Account - powered by Yahoo. Add your projects there, and then come back here with the link for the project.
*Link ups cannot be to Etsy listings or Ravelry pages where patterns are sold. You can link to blog posts, Flickr or Facebook pages, Pins, etc that are directed towards it, but can't directly link to it.
*Features may be chosen at the discretion of each host. By linking up, you give us permission to feature your item.

Yarn Fanatic Party #67

This post may contain affiliate links.

It's a new week!  I can't wait to see what you've all be busy creating.  I finally finished up my Peacock Hood blog post.  (The actual crocheting took me no time at all compared to writing up the pattern.)  I'd love to hear what you think of it!

Link up any of your yarn projects!

The only rule is that everything you link to must be family friendly.

I would appreciate it very much if you:

  • Add a link to the Yarn Fanatic Party to your post or party page.
  • Follow The Philosopher's Wife.
  • Check out some of the other yarn goodies people have finished.
  • Leave comments here, there, and everywhere.  (Please, take a moment to visit at least one other blog and leave a comment.  I want this to be a supportive community of yarn lovers.)
  • If you're not a blogger, but want to participate, feel free to upload a picture from Flicker!  Or even link a Facebook or Twitter photo.  (Just make sure your settings are set to "public" so that we can all see it!)
  • By linking up you are giving me permission to share your photos here on the blog and via social media, with the appropriate credit, of course!
  • Please do NOT link directly to a paid pattern.  You may link to your blog, which in turn links to the pattern.

Yarn Fanatic Party #32

Welcome to the Yarn Fanatic Party!
This is a place to share your projects, see what others have made, support one another, and even enter a yarn giveaway.

I've been crocheting a bit of amigurumi lately (be on the lookout for a giraffe, an elephant, and a pod of whales this week!), so I immediately was drawn to this "Horsy" by Marmarel.

I also really love this adorable crochet bunting!  The colors just draw my eye in.  (The room that these are displayed in is really beautiful too -- and such a cool staircase!)  The link to the free pattern was broken for me, but I'm sure it wouldn't be too hard to find it!

Did you see the Sweet Fantasy Granny Square Baby Blanket that EyeLoveKnots crocheted?  She includes the free pattern in her post.

It's a yarn Giveaway!
Have you heard of Tinted Tangles?  Krysta is the brains and talent behind this awesome little yarn shop.  Each skein is imbued with its beautiful color in her kitchen.  I think my favorite line in her entire bio is "I am just a girl trying to pursue a dream job".  I'm super excited that she is sponsoring a $25 shop credit giveaway!  I also will be reviewing a skein of her yarn, so be sure to be on the look out for that!

Details and Important Information: Must be 18+ to enter. US only. Void where prohibited. Winner must respond to my email within 48 hours or a new winner will be chosen. Social media is not affiliated with this giveaway. The sponsor is responsible for prize fulfillment.  A quick note to my international friends: I know many of you are disappointed that these giveaways are limited to US only.  The problem is that there are hundreds of rules and laws regarding how giveaways are run.  It can be very easy to accidentally break the law when international policy comes into play.  I simply wish to keep everything as legal as possible, and for now at least that means limiting these giveaways to US entrants.  I do hope that you still participate in these Yarn Fanatic Parties and that someday there might be a giveaway that you can enter!

Yarn Fanatic Party #31 (Tinted Tangles $25 Shop Credit Giveaway Ends 4/19)

Welcome to the Yarn Fanatic Party!
A place to share your projects, see what others have made, support one another, and even enter a yarn giveaway.

Isn't the crocheted Cable Beret (above) adorable?  The Falling Blossoms Scarf (below) is a very nifty project.  It's beautiful, but it's especially unique because it requires both crochet and knitting skills.  How cool is that?  Both of these patterns are free, so make sure you add them to your to do list!

Check out Alexandra's post to see the most clicked links from last week!

Do you remember the Buttons & Things giveaway from a few weeks ago?  They have such fun pins/magnets.  They really are great.  Also, make an order before April 9th and use the code PHILWIFE15 to take a $1 off!

Yarn Fanatic Party #28

Welcome to the twenty-eighth Yarn Fanatic Party!

These bright and cheery granny squares by Lunamon Design caught my eye right away!  I really love the bright colors and the granny pattern.  (I'm actually taking a poll on what type of flower granny afghan I should make.  I'd really love your feedback.)

St. Patrick's Day is March 17th, so it's the perfect time to whip up a few of these cute little shamrocks by Midwestern Moms.

Alexandra, my Yarn Fanatic Party Co-Host, has a great post about changing colors in crochet.  For as much as I love crocheting with a variety of colors, I'm not always a huge fan of making the change.  Although, I have a current crochet graph project with lots and lots of color changes!  (More on that project on Wednesday.)

Today's giveaway is sponsored by The Hook Hound.  Carlinda has many beautiful crochet patterns for sale in her shop.Personally, I love the owl patterns that she sells.  I'm super excited that one lucky winner will receive the crochet pattern for these It's a Hoot Owl Texting Gloves.  Aren't they adorable?  A second winner will be able to choose one pattern from the shop.  That's right -- TWO WINNERS!

Details and Important Information: Must be 18+ to enter.  US only.  Void where prohibited.  Winner must respond to my email within 48 hours or a new winner will be chosen.  Social media is not affiliated with this giveaway.  The Hook Hound is responsible for prize fulfillment.

This giveaway is now over.  Make sure to check out the newest Yarn Fanatic Party for another great giveaway!

Yarn Fanatic Party #27

It's time for the twenty-seventh Yarn Fanatic Party!

I can't believe that Easter is already right around the corner!  (I am still planning on sewing matching dresses for Catherine and me, I better get started!)  This wreath by Navy Wifey Peters Aboard USS Crafty is too cute!

I also love this Larksfoot Afghan Pattern.  The pattern is unique, and Kate gives an easy to follow tutorial.

Today's giveaway is sponsored by Loops of Love.  Lisa specializes in crochet patterns.  Today she is generously giving away two patterns to two lucky readers!  Some of my favorite patterns of hers include the Elise Cowl, the Cora Couture Baby Bonnet, and the Karys Cloche.

Yarn Fanatic Party #23

Welcome to the twenty-third Yarn Fanatic Party!

How have you been?  Poor little Dominic caught the cold bug that's been going around.  Even with the sniffles he's a pretty chill little dude.  He can walk now!  He's been taking a few steps here and a few steps there, but over the weekend he walked across the living room and dining room repeatedly.  He's an early walker, just like his sister, at ten and a half months old.

In yarn news, I'm reviewing a beautiful skein from Expression Fiber Arts.  I have a hat on the needles for myself.  I did tell Catherine that she could share it with me sometimes, because she loves the yarn almost as much as I do!  (Below you can enter to win a skein for yourself!)

There were lots of great projects linked up last week!  One that especially caught my eye was Ionyka's First Baby Blanket.  I suppose I'm a sucker for a bright granny square.

Also, for a great v-stitch scarf, be sure to check out this post by my co-host, Alexandra.

Ready for a giveaway?  I'm super excited about this one!  (To be honest, I get pretty excited for all of the giveaways I host.)  Today's sponsor is Expression Fiber Arts.

The prize is a skein of Celestial 'Resilient' Superwash Merino Sock Yarn.

Details and Important Information: Must be 18+ to enter.  US only.  Void where prohibited.  Winner must respond to my email within 48 hours or a new winner will be chosen.  Social media is not affiliated with this giveaway.  Expression Fiber Arts is responsible for prize shipment and fulfillment.  Contact The Philosopher's Wife with any questions.

Yarn Fanatic Party #22 (Heartspun by Wendy Crochet Pattern Giveaway Ends 2/8)

Welcome to another edition of the Yarn Fanatic Party!

Last week I finally showed you my Swanky Infinity Scarf, did you see it?  Here's a teaser picture.

Ester, from Happy In Red, crocheted a beautiful Waffle Shrug, and she wrote a very helpful tutorial so that we can all make one!

Our sponsor for today's giveaway is Heartspun by Wendy.  Wendy is a busy homeschooling and crafty entrepreneur.  She loves crocheting and jewelry making.  While she has lots of cool items in her Etsy shop, my favorites are the crochet patterns!  I think these are my top three, but it's hard to choose:
Mickey & Minnie Cozies
Baby Converse Shoes

Hogwarts Phone Case

Must be 18+ to enter.  US only.  Void where prohibited.  This giveaway is not affiliated with any social media.  Winner will have 48 hours to respond to my email, at that time a new winner will be drawn.  The Philosopher's Wife is not responsible for prize shipment or fulfillment.
